Hope you had a merry Christmas, and are enjoying a safe, happy and playful holidays 🕊🌸 here is a post to share and note a couple of natural beauty care, skin care and a couple of other favourite things for the month of December 🕊 a couple of the favourites include an organic coconut body lotion by mailelani samoa, an organic matcha latte recipe made with almond milk noted by the minimalist baker, a vanilla cupcake candle made by sweet treats and co, eco friendly body care by everkind and an album by Carla Bruni with kind and gentle songs, in both French and English.
Organic coconut body lotion
My sister Bid went on holiday to Samoa just a couple of years ago, and bought home a couple of gifts, including a coconut body lotion. The body lotion is from a brand called Mailelani (Mailelani is noted to mean from Heaven in Samoa, and describes the abundant blessings Polynesians have enjoyed for generations), is handmade from organic coconut oil and is noted to be infused with frangipani and lau ti. The organic body lotion feels so special to use, as the scent of the lotion is gentle and calming, the body lotion is easy to rub in, and the body lotion feels really light, caring and nourishing for the skin. I also love the beautiful illustration on the front of the bottle so much. I enjoy using the organic body lotion each day just before bed, and have just about run out of the organic coconut body lotion.
An organic matcha latte
Organic matcha is a superfood, which helps to look after your body and wellbeing. I bought an organic matcha green tea powder by BioBalance (@biobalancenz) just a couple of weeks ago, and often make an organic matcha latte with almond milk each day in the morning or afternoon. Organic matcha powder is a bright, fresh green colour and is often used in smoothies, baking and lattes as a more nutritious alternative for coffee, and the organic matcha could be helpful for someone who is quite careful or health conscious, or could be hoping to drink a bit less caffeine.
Here is a recipe for a plant based organic matcha latte, created and posted by the minimalist baker (a link to the website is here). The organic matcha latte recipe is so delicious and nourishing with the plant based milk (I often use almond milk) and maple syrup, and is noted to be dairy milk free, made with natural sweeteners, and a creamy, antioxidant rich blend.
Organic matcha latte
- 1 1/4 teaspoons of matcha powder
- 1 tablespoon of maple syrup (to taste)
- 1 tablespoon of hot water
- 3/4 of a cup of light coconut milk
- 3/4 of a cup of macadamia nut milk
Optional ingredients to include
- 1/4 teaspoon of maca powder
- 1/4 teaspoon of ashwaganda
- 1 tablespoon (15 g) of coconut butter
Add matcha powder to your serving mug along with sweetener of choice and hot water (if adding more ingredients, including maca, ashwaganda, or coconut butter, add at this time).
Whisk with a bamboo whisk or a metal whisk until completely dissolved. If you don’t have a bamboo whisk, you can use a spoon or a metal whisk or even blend the latte in a blender. Bamboo whisks are gentle on the matcha and also help it dissolve more completely. So if you like matcha, I recommend investing! Otherwise, use what you have.
Once the matcha is completely dissolved, heat your coconut and macadamia milk (or other dairy-free milks). I added mine to a frothing pitcher and steamed on our espresso machine, but you could also heat in the microwave or on the stovetop until hot and steamy. To get more froth, you can whisk vigorously or use a handheld frother.
Pour dairy-free milk into your mug, latte art optional. Taste and add more sweetener if needed. I found that, when I used the macadamia nut milk, I only needed a bit of maple syrup or stevia to sweeten. Enjoy immediately.

A vanilla cupcake candle
Sweet treats & co are a candle and melts company, who create beautiful scented candles, melt packs and bath salts in a couple of shapes, inspired by soft and warm baking scents, nature and beautiful flowers. There are a couple of different candles and melt packs on the online shop, in a wide range of scents to choose from, and more products are also being created and made. Sweet treats & co kindly offered to send a discount code for a candle or melt from the sweet treats & co online shop, and the candle I chose is called the Beauty and the Beast candle, and is noted to be inspired by the glass enclosed rose from the classic movie. The scent of the candle is called vanilla cupcake, and is so soft, creamy and light, and I often light the candle each day, just before bed (a link to an earlier blog post about the vanilla cupcake candle is here).
Eco friendly body care
Everkind are a beautiful and award winning natural, organic and eco friendly body care brand, who make a couple of organic self care and body care products, including a couple of natural deodorants. The everkind brand is a kind combination of a love for nature, being careful toward the environment, kindness and self care, and everkind kindly posted an eco friendly deodorant to try. The deodorant is light pink, and called the ultra deodorant stick, and the deodorant stick is so beautiful, and is the most gentle, caring, helpful and effective deodorant I have used before. I use the eco friendly deodorant each day, and couldn’t recommend the eco friendly deodorant enough in case you could be hoping to try natural, organic and eco friendly body care too (a link to an earlier blog post about eco friendly body care by everkind is here).
An album by Carla Bruni
I enjoy listening to songs and albums by Carla Bruni so much, and she is one of my favourite singers and artists. All of her songs are so gentle and easy to listen to, with kind and pretty lyrics in both French and English. One of her albums I am enjoying listening to a lot in the month of December is called Comme Si de Rien N’Etait (2008) and has a beautiful natural album cover, with a big tree and a lot of leafy branches, a lake and Carla Bruni walking. I think my favourite song on the album could be the song called La Possibilité D’une île, and a couple more of the songs on the album I enjoy listening to a lot are called You Belong to Me and L’Amoureuse.
Are there any natural beauty care, skin care or other kinds of favourites you are enjoying a lot for the month of December?
