Here is a recipe for a plant based hot chocolate by Deliciously Ella 🌸 the recipe is from Ella’s book Deliciously Ella Every Day and only has a couple of plant based ingredients you could hopefully find at your local shop or supermarket. The hot chocolate drink has a beautiful flavour and feels so nourishing and warming to make on a cold day.
- 250 ml plant based milk (Ella suggests homemade plant based milk is best here)
- 2 tablespoons date syrup (I sometimes use maple syrup too)
- 2 teaspoons raw cacao powder (you could also use cocoa powder in case)
- 1 teaspoon almond butter
Place all of the ingredients into a saucepan and heat gently. Keep stirring as the hot chocolate heats, to ensure all the ingredients mix together and the almond butter doesn’t sink and stick to the bottom.
Take the pan off the heat before it reaches boiling point, to keep all the goodness in.
