A lavender and honey face scrub

lavender

Here is a recipe for a lavender and honey face scrub I used to make when I was studying at University and had an assignment or was feeling a bit worried coming up to exams. The face scrub is made with quite simple ingredients (including lavender flowers, lavender oil, (organic) honey, lemon juice, brown sugar and organic coconut oil) you could hopefully find in your garden and at your local shop 🌸

The brown sugar and lemon juice in the face scrub help to gently exfoliate and brighten the skin, and the (organic) honey and organic coconut oil help to soothe, nourish and moisturise. The lavender flowers and lavender oil also help the face scrub to be quite calming as the scent of the lavender on your skin is gentle and relaxing.

A lavender and honey face scrub

Ingredients

  • 2 or 3 lavender flowers from the garden
  • 1 or 2 drops of lavender essential oil
  • 1 tablespoon of (organic) honey
  • Juice of half a fresh lemon
  • 1/2 cup of brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon of organic coconut oil (another oil including olive oil or grapeseed oil would be ok too)

Method

Gather all of the ingredients and gently break up the lavender flowers into small buds. Add all of the ingredients to a small bowl or dish and mix until combined. Rinse your face, neck and chest area with warm water, and gently add the face scrub, using your fingers to rub in circular motions to help to exfoliate the skin. Carefully rinse the face scrub off with warm water and gently pat skin dry with a flannel or face towel.

Have you tried a natural face scrub or other skin care recipe before? Are there any other ingredients you would recommend to use to help to look after skin? 🌸
