Here is a recipe for a strawberry smoothie I have been making quite a lot this summer and autumn. The smoothie is really nice to have in the morning for breakfast or for any time of the day, and there are only a few ingredients, including a banana, strawberries, plant based milk, ground almonds and yoghurt 🌸
You could also add more ingredients to the smoothie if you would like to (including more banana, more berries or a different kind of berry, a healthy superfood including maca powder, or any other kind of ingredient you enjoy)
- 1 banana
- 3 or 4 handfuls of strawberries (raspberries, blueberries, or mixed berries are ok too)
- 1 cup of plant based milk (I use unsweetened almond milk, though any other kind of plant based milk or cows milk would be ok if you prefer)
- 4 tablespoons of ground almonds
- 3 or 4 generous spoonfuls of yoghurt (I use Greek yoghurt, though any other kind of yoghurt or plant based yoghurt would be ok)
Add all of the ingredients to a blender and blend for about 2 minutes until smooth
Strawberries are one of my favourite fruits and I have always enjoyed eating them a lot, since I was little 🌸 we have a strawberry patch in our garden at home, and there are quite a lot of strawberries in the summer. As noted by BBC Good Food, strawberries are a very good source of vitamins C and K and are also full of fibre.
I also enjoy drinking almond milk a lot, and add quite a lot of almond milk and ground almonds to the smoothie because of the healthy benefits of almonds; as noted by BBC Good Food, almonds are full of healthy fat (monounsaturated fat), fibre, protein, and important nutrients including vitamin E.
